Title: TITANIC WORLD EXHIBITION – The True Story of the Titanic
Venue: Hodonínska 27, Bratislava
Organizer: Sport Mall, Hodonínska 27, Bratislava
Event Description:
The Titanic World Exhibition is returning to Slovakia — back in Bratislava after ten years!
This spectacular exhibition offers a deep insight into the fate of the legendary Titanic and its passengers, while also exploring the turbulent era of technological discoveries and the socio-political atmosphere at the beginning of the 20th century.
Spanning 3,500 square meters, the exhibition will open on February 20th at Sport Mall Bratislava Lamač.
At the time, Titanic was the largest ocean liner in the world and a symbol of the technical revolution. Designed to transport passengers and mail between Europe and North America, the ship tragically sank in the Atlantic Ocean on its maiden voyage — on April 15, 1912. Over 1,500 people lost their lives on that fateful day.
The exclusive exhibition showcases more than 200 original artifacts recovered from the famous wreck on the ocean floor. Among the exhibits are parts of the ship’s fittings, pieces of furniture, porcelain, and personal belongings of passengers — such as jewelry, handbags, and clothing items. Thanks to accurate reconstructions of cabins, the engine room, and the dining area, visitors can experience the true atmosphere of both luxury and hardship aboard the legendary steamship. You’ll witness the grandeur of historical interiors, the noise of the engines, and the looming anxiety before a real-life tragedy.
What makes the Titanic exhibition one of the most popular in the world is the strong emotional impact and the large number of authentic artifacts.
Every visitor receives a “boarding pass” at the entrance — with the real name of a person who was on board the Titanic. You will experience the entire exhibition as if you were that very passenger.
An audio guide is available, providing detailed commentary on each exhibit. For curious visitors — especially students — special worksheets will be prepared, along with knowledge quizzes covering major political, scientific, and cultural events of the early 20th century.
The Titanic Exhibition offers a compelling view of historical context, both globally and in Slovakia, at the dawn of the 20th century. It also sheds light on the great wave of migration when thousands of people fled Europe — from poverty and the looming First World War — in search of a better life in America. This is more than just a journey into the heart of the Titanic — it’s a comprehensive reflection on the remarkable era in which it was built.
Tickets are sold for specific dates and times. By purchasing in advance, visitors can avoid long queues. Group visits (such as school groups) can reserve fixed time slots and benefit from discounted entry, with free admission for accompanying teachers.
