The SHOW SLOVAKIA agency is bringing a brand new ice show for the whole family to Slovakia—an event unlike any seen before in Europe. In collaboration with the world-renowned Ice Empire company, which has produced projects like Stars on Ice, Champions on Ice, and many others, and the Wiener Stadt Ballett theater, we present the unique combination of an ice show and ballet – The Nutcracker.
This show will be performed in only six countries in Europe: Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, and we are proud to announce that Slovakia will be the sixth country to host it.
The unique set design of the show will allow the audience to watch not only the figure skaters performing on the ice but also ballet dancers on stage. A special stage will be set up on the ice, where ballet artists from the Wiener Stadt Ballett will perform. Close by, on the ice, you will see outstanding performances by top European figure skaters, participants in world-class ice skating shows, as well as acrobatic and dance numbers performed by professional circus artists and ice dancers. All of this will come together into one spectacular performance.
The colorful light show, stunning costumes, and incredible performances by all the artists promise an unforgettable experience. The famous ballet The Nutcracker will be brought to life in a magical way, using visual effects and multimedia technology to present the familiar story in a new, surprising way, making the show attractive even for the youngest viewers.
The performance will be accompanied by the famous ballet music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, specially recorded by a symphony orchestra for this occasion.
The Story of The Nutcracker:
The story takes place on Christmas Eve at the home of Dr. Stahlbaum, his wife, and their two children, Maria and Franz. Maria’s godfather, Drosselmeyer, brings her a gift—a toy soldier named the Nutcracker—and tells her a wonderful tale full of magic. The festive evening slowly winds down as guests depart, and Maria returns to the living room to take another look at the Nutcracker, which remains under the Christmas tree. Suddenly, everything changes. The tree grows, and the room transforms into a grand hall. Toys, including the Nutcracker, come to life, and mice led by the Mouse King appear. The Nutcracker, with a small army of Christmas toys, stands against them. Maria becomes part of this unforgettable adventure, as she stays with her hero and helps him.
