For many years, Impressionist art was dismissed and overlooked by the public. Artistic geniuses like Monet, Degas, and Renoir fell into obscurity. Then something remarkable happened. Art collectors emerged who were so fascinated by the works of these French innovators that they began to collect their pieces. Among them was the visionary Danish businessman Wilhelm Hansen. Hansen amassed an impressive art collection at his summer residence, Ordrupgaard, in the suburbs of Copenhagen.

The documentary film The Danish Collector – From Delacroix to Gauguin tells his fascinating story and, thanks to exclusive access to the sold-out exhibition at London’s Royal Academy, brings this extraordinary collection to the big screen.
