The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has now focused on these famous works in a dedicated exhibition, for which the Exhibition on Screen team gained exclusive access. This art documentary seeks answers to many questions related to these paintings. Why did Vincent van Gogh choose sunflowers? What message does this series of paintings convey? How do the individual paintings differ? What have scientists revealed after studying these works in detail?

The film visits, besides Amsterdam, also London, Philadelphia, Tokyo, and Munich to uncover the secrets of five famous sunflower paintings by Vincent van Gogh and creates a unique virtual exhibition for cinema screens.
