Event Description:

The likable Jozef (Ondřej Vetchý) is a successful master violin maker. He takes joy in knowing that the instruments he creates bring happiness to people around the world. He prefers to spend his time in his workshop in the courtyard of his apartment building. He has never been to the sea; instead, his sea is a puddle in the yard, which he protects from drying up so that the birds have water to drink. He has neither a wife nor children, only a dog named Pampeliška, who accompanies him at every step.

Jozef secretly loves his beautiful neighbor Anežka (Linda Rybová) and looks forward to the Wednesday chess games with his best friend Václav (Jiří Langmajer), a charismatic piano tuner who is skilled at tuning most female pianists as well. Although Jozef has already crafted many masterful instruments, he knows that his violin-making skills are not yet at their peak. He hesitates to use the best wood in his workshop that he carefully keeps. After all, he has so much time ahead of him—for making a master violin and getting to know Anežka. However, life can change in an instant, and the sea of time suddenly becomes just a puddle. With the help of his friends, Jozef begins to fulfill all the dreams he no longer wants to postpone. Ultimately, he achieves his masterpiece violin and the true love of a lifetime.

Sea in the Yard is a new film by Martin Horský, the screenwriter and director of the successful comedy Women on the Run. The producer is Tomáš Hoffman (Women on the Run, Men in Hope, A Great Woman on Your Back, Women in Temptation, Participants of the Trip).
