Residence of a European Union Citizen and Their Family Member on the Territory of the Slovak Republic.

If an EU citizen stays on the territory of the Slovak Republic for more than 3 months, they are obliged to personally register their residence at the relevant Foreign Police department of the Police Force. Registration of residence is free, and the deadline for registration is no later than 30 days after the expiration of three months from the date of entry into the territory of the Slovak Republic.

If a family member stays on the territory of the Slovak Republic for more than 3 months, the family member of an EU citizen has the right to reside in the territory of the Slovak Republic, provided that the sponsor (EU citizen) accompanying them or to whom they are joining. The family member of an EU citizen is obliged to submit an application for the issuance of a residence document to the relevant Foreign Police department of the Police Force within 30 days after the expiration of three months from the date of entry into the territory of the Slovak Republic.
