“One does not need to live in peace with friends, but with enemies.”
The story of the prominent Bratislavan, Imi Lichtenfeld, the founder of the Krav Maga defense system.
In the fall of 1938, following the declaration of autonomy, a strong wave of anti-Semitic sentiments rises in Slovakia. The Jews have no one to protect them; they must rely on themselves. Two friends, Imrich “Imi” Lichtenfeld and David “Dufi” Unreich, successful athletes and admired wrestlers, attempt the impossible—defend a peaceful and passive minority against the overwhelming fascist thugs. This play is about the life of Imrich Lichtenfeld, the legendary founder of Krav Maga, his beloved Prešporok (Bratislava), and the times when life turned into a fight for survival and the streets became a bloody ring.
