Pre-Travel Registration.

Natural disasters, industrial accidents, epidemics, social crises, crime, terrorism, or armed conflicts—these are challenges that Slovak citizens may encounter during their travels abroad. The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic offers a free service called Pre-Travel Registration to provide essential information to Slovak citizens in the countries they visit. The aim is to assist registered citizens with crucial information about the local situation and enable better organization of assistance in times of crisis.

Registration is voluntary and can be activated easily by filling out the registration e-form, which requires the following details:

  • Registering person
  • Co-travelers
  • Travel plan – destination country, transit countries
  • Contact person in the Slovak Republic for emergency communication

If traveling in a group, one person can register on behalf of the entire group, providing details about the travel plan and the number of co-travelers. Alternatively, the names and contact details of all co-travelers can be included.

It is recommended to specify transit countries and provide accurate information about places of stay (cities, hotels) for better localization in case of emergency. When registering, it is advisable to include a close contact person in the Slovak Republic who is not traveling but shares a close relationship with the registering person.

If you choose to receive important information about the current situation in the countries of your travel plan via email during registration, we will keep you informed of any changes in travel recommendations for those countries.

Based on the information provided in the registration form, Slovak diplomatic missions abroad can offer prompt assistance to travelers in need.

Upon successful registration, you will receive a registration code sent to your provided email address, allowing you to modify registration details or cancel registration. Personal data will be automatically deleted 30 days after the planned end of the trip abroad.
