Natural disasters, industrial accidents, epidemics, social crises, crime, terrorism, or armed conflicts – all of these challenges may confront Slovak citizens during their travels abroad. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic offers a free service called Pre-travel Registration to Slovak citizens.
The aim of the service is to provide registered citizens with essential information about the situation in the country they are visiting and, in the event of a crisis, facilitate better organization of assistance to Slovak citizens.
Registration is voluntary. The service can be activated easily by filling out the registration e-form, which requires the following information:
- Registering person
- Co-travelers
- Travel plan – destination country, transit countries
- Contact person in Slovakia for emergency communication
If traveling with others, it is sufficient for one person from the group to register, providing details about the travel plan and the number of co-travelers. However, you also have the option to list the names and contact information of all co-travelers.
We recommend including transit countries during the journey and providing as accurate information as possible about places of stay (cities, hotels) for emergency localization. When registering, it is advisable to specify a close contact person in Slovakia who is not traveling with the registering person but has a close relationship, either familial or otherwise.
If you choose to receive important information about the current situation in the countries of your travel plan via email, we will keep you informed of any changes in travel recommendations in the countries of your stay.
Based on the information from the registration form, Slovak diplomatic missions abroad can provide prompt assistance to travelers in need.
Upon successful registration, a registration code will be sent to your provided email address, allowing you to modify the registration details or cancel the registration. Personal data will be automatically deleted 30 days after the planned end of the journey abroad.
