The City of Bratislava invites you to the very first New Year’s Mulching Event.

“How to say goodbye to your Christmas tree?”

Together, we will mulch up to 300 Christmas trees from Bratislava, and we would be happy to mulch yours as well. Everyone is welcome to bring a tree, but it’s also fine to come without one (trees from surrounding enclosures will be available for mulching). Every visitor can take home fresh mulch made from Bratislava’s Christmas trees, which they can use around trees, shrubs, or garden beds.

What is mulch actually good for?

Mulch made from conifers is great for mulching garden beds, preventing weed growth, and promoting the formation of humus. Mulch also helps maintain sufficient moisture, reducing the need for watering. You can use it around conifers, ornamental trees, perennials, or climbing plants that thrive in acidic environments. Examples include azaleas, rhododendrons, heathers, heath plants, as well as many types of conifers and other predominantly evergreen shrubs.
