Instructor Jozef Čabo, known as the “Swiss Army knife of lighting designers,” will be at Nová Cvernovka on January 25 to talk about lighting design.

Since 2018, Jozef Čabo has been creating lighting design for theater productions, concerts, festivals, advertising, and film projects. His notable collaborations include productions at theaters (e.g. Debris Company, Divadlo Pôtoň: Americký cisár – Theater Boards Award for Best Production of the Season, Divadlo Jána Palárika: Tanec smrti), stage design and technical solutions for festivals like Pohoda, Grape, Electronic Beats, Next, Sharpe, as well as film documentaries like Libertas and Zlatá zem, and work with performers such as Fvlcrvm, Jana Kirschner, Para, and many more.

LALA Labs is organizing another workshop, this time a Lighting Workshop, where participants will learn how to work with lighting at events, improve their skills in lighting for concerts, festivals, parties, and theater productions. The workshop will cover working with lighting consoles, basic setup, and connecting lighting systems, all complemented by practical demonstrations of wiring and connecting lights.

This workshop is designed for those interested in lighting design and who are familiar with at least basic terminology, or those at an intermediate level. Beginners in lighting will be able to learn the technical and practical basics that can be used creatively in the future. The workshop is also aimed at musicians or people working in the event sector who want to learn more about creating atmosphere. In addition to technical basics, Jozef will also teach participants how to work better with other colleagues within the production of music events.
