Poland, a country that dedicated itself to the legacy of Fryderyk Chopin, also actively promoted the works of contemporary composers throughout the 20th century. The so-called Polish School of Composition became an internationally respected phenomenon. The Warsaw Autumn Festival is also an important part of modern music history. Composer Mieczysław Karlowicz tragically perished in an avalanche at the age of 32 during a skiing and photography expedition in the High Tatras. Returning Waves is one of the six symphonic poems by this talented composer. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 always captivates listeners with its inner energy. The legendary theme of the Finale has permeated the highest social and political circles, becoming the anthem of the European Union.
