Ludwig van Beethoven – Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125
Poland, the country that gave us Fryderyk Chopin, also became active in the 20th century in promoting works of contemporary composers. The so-called Polish School of Composition was an internationally revered phenomenon. The Warsaw Autumn Festival is also an important part of modern music history. Composer Mieczysław Karłowicz tragically lost his life at the age of 32 in an avalanche during a skiing and photography expedition in the High Tatras. Returning Waves is one of six symphonic poems by the talented composer. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 is a work that continues to fascinate listeners with its internal energy. The legendary theme of the Finale even became the anthem of the European Union, reaching the highest social and political circles.
