Panel discussion with Svetlana Síthová and Martin Mihalovič.
For anyone interested in how to create an accessible and supportive environment for all children, including those with disabilities.

A discussion on how to adapt leisure programs to provide every child with meaningful opportunities to develop and feel part of a group.

The guests of the discussion will be:

  • Svetlana Síthová: Special education teacher who has long worked with children with special educational needs. She taught special education and pedagogy for people with learning disabilities at the university and worked at the National Institute for Education of Youth.
  • Zuzana Augustínová: Mother of a son with a disability, who has been a scout member since childhood, just like his 3 younger siblings. He is now 20 years old and is trying to find stable work. Zuzka works as a nurse.
  • Martin Mihalovič: Leads a scout troop and also participates in organizing the national scouting event Aqua. As a programmer, he also works with children with disabilities. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in childhood, which has accompanied him throughout his time in scouting.
  • Martina Čápová: Led a scout troop and was involved in the development of Roma scouting. She currently works with people with disabilities in the area of job opportunities. She will moderate the discussion.

This event is intended not only for scouts but also for anyone working with children and youth, and for anyone interested in inclusion. The discussion is organized by the Scout Institute in Slovakia.
