Helmut Newton’s photography of women is openly erotic and provocative, yet simultaneously elegant and playful. Born in 1920 into a Jewish family, Newton lived through a series of tumultuous events in the 20th century, which deeply influenced his work. This intimate documentary by Geroa von Boehm features personalities such as Charlotte Rampling, Isabella Rossellini, Hanna Schygulla, Grace Jones, Marianne Faithfull, Claudia Schiffer, Anna Wintour, and others, forming a poignant mosaic of Newton’s life and career. Newton, a man who never considered himself an artist, left an indelible mark on the art world before his life was tragically cut short by a car accident in 2004.
