The Kýčera Folklore Group was established in 1933 by the Matica slovenská, founded by local teacher Mr. Gajdoš. In 1935, they performed at Hradčany, where they were received by President Beneš, and in 1946 at the Slovak Days in Devín. In 1968, the group began working systematically under the leadership of Slavomír Auxt. Since then, they have regularly performed at local events and prominent folklore festivals, such as Východná, Detva, Strážnica, and Heľpa, as well as participating in national folklore group reviews in Žilina (1988–2003).
The group has also performed abroad in Yugoslavia, Hungary, France, and England. The members represent all age groups and are dedicated to preserving the folklore traditions of the Čierny Hron region. Their repertoire includes folk dances and customs such as Vrchovô, Odzemok, Koleso, Zbojník, Fašang, and Svadba (Wedding).
The Nátura Folk Band was formed in 2003 with a lineup of five musicians. Their repertoire features folk songs from regions such as Čierny Balog, Podpoľanie, Horehronie, as well as Roma songs. They collaborate regularly with Kýčera and other folklore ensembles, participating in various festivals in Heľpa, Východná, and Detva, and performing internationally in Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic.
🎭 This event is held under the patronage of Ján Hrčka, Mayor of Bratislava – Petržalka, in collaboration with V. Bajan and ProFolklorika n.f.
