The international festival Days of Early Music is the only event of its kind in Slovakia dedicated to presenting works from earlier musical periods through historically informed performance. In addition to four concerts in Bratislava, this year the festival will also bring one concert to the town of Svätý Jur.
June 6 – June 15, 2025 | Bratislava
For over two decades, the Days of Early Music festival has hosted some of the world’s most prominent performers and has featured many modern premieres, including works connected to the musical history of what is now Slovakia.
This year’s program includes historically focused concerts such as performances by Musica Aeterna (Jesuit-Piarist Collection from Podolínec) and Le nuove musiche (Samuel Capricornus: Geistliche Harmonien I). A fascinating journey into 19th-century clarinet repertoire will be offered by the recital of Róbert Šebesta and Ladislav Fančovič.
The festival will open with a concert by medieval and early Renaissance specialists Ensemble Sollazzo, performing from the unique Leuven Chansonnier. The second international guest, Belgian harpsichordist Ewald Demeyere, will be joined by flutist Radka Kubínová in a program of works by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The festival is organized by the Music Centre Slovakia in cooperation with the Center for Early Music and includes various accompanying events.
