Discover the winemaking treasures of the picturesque wine town in its magical historic cellars.

Get to know the wines, stories, and people of Svätý Jur. This year, 25 cellars will open their doors for two days.

Did you know that the famous animator and caricaturist Viktor Kubal was born in Svätý Jur, the beloved actor and singer Michal Dočolomanský grew up here, and the revered scholar and rabbi Chatam Sofer once lived and worked in the town? Local winemakers may even share these fascinating facts with you in their cellars at the end of February.

The Svätý Jur countryside is one of the best-preserved areas of original cultural landscape in Slovakia and provides ideal conditions for grapevine cultivation. The local climatic conditions are particularly suitable for growing white wine varieties.

The local vineyards spread across the southwestern slopes of the Small Carpathians, and thanks to the unique terroir, Svätý Jur wines are highly regarded among experts and wine lovers. This is especially true when it comes to Svätý Jur Riesling.

Taste the famous Svätý Jur wine, which many consider the best in the Bratislava region. Treat yourself to wines such as Víno z kamenného dvora or from the cellar of Bognár. You have a perfect opportunity during this wine celebration on Friday and Saturday, January 27 and 28.

The Day of Svätý Jur Cellars has been organized by the Svätý Jur Winegrowers Association since 2008. Currently, dozens of Svätý Jur winemakers regularly open their cellars, and the number of wine enthusiasts approaches 2,000.

Come and enjoy a pleasant time in the town with a rich winemaking culture and savor the winemaking traditions of the Small Carpathians to the last drop.
