When considering living in Slovakia, two key terms often arise: “residence permit” and “permanent residence.” But what distinguishes the two?

✅ Both permits enable residence in the country. If you’re planning a move to Slovakia, the initial step is applying for a residence permit before seeking permanent residence.

Both types of permits offer:

📌 Obtaining a Slovak driver’s license,
📌 Social benefits, and more.

However, a permanent residence permit comes with additional rights. No work permits are needed, and only permanent permit holders receive a lump sum payment at a child’s birth. Tax, child, maternity, and parental allowances are available to both permit holders.

After residing in Slovakia for 5 years, pursuing a permanent residence permit is advisable. With it, your rights and duties align closely with Slovak Republic citizens. Without it, you may not access certain benefits and might not fully integrate into the country 🤷‍♂️

   €50–€150 for an initial consultation to assess eligibility and explain the process.

2. **Service Packages**  
   – **Basic Package**: Document preparation and application submission (€500–€1,500).  
   – **Full-Service Package**: Includes eligibility assessment, document preparation, language test preparation, submission, and follow-up (€1,500–€3,000).  
   – **Complex Cases**: Ancestry, marriage, or special circumstances (€2,000–€5,000 or more).

3. **Hourly Rate**  
   – If the client prefers, an hourly rate (e.g., €50–€150/hour) for specific tasks.

4. **Additional Costs**  
   Third-party costs (e.g., translations, notarizations, language tests) that the client will need to cover separately.
