Vítězslav Mácha, a charismatic young man with a reputation as both an excellent and authoritarian choirmaster, leads a girls’ choir. Thirteen-year-old Karolína strives to assert herself in this highly competitive group and measure up to her older sister.

The world of adolescent singers, prestigious concerts, and a dream tour in America forms the setting of this renowned girls’ choir. In the early 1990s, thirteen-year-old Karolína longs to join the ensemble. During a pivotal season, she must navigate talented rivals, including her older sister Lucie, and earn the respect of the admired choirmaster. The delicate relationship with this authoritative figure—whose methods Karolína doesn’t fully understand—can easily spiral out of control.
