Children’s Fair

Date and time: From January 25, 2025, at 10:00

Location: Staromestské centrum kultúry a vzdelávania, Gaštanová 19

The Staré Mesto Library on Gaštanová will transform into a bazaar – young traders will sell their sorted toys, books, or handmade products at symbolic prices on January 25, 2025.

Children who received new toys or books after Christmas and need to make space on their shelves are invited by the Staré Mesto Library to the bazaar. The library encourages children to sort through toys they no longer play with or books they no longer read, and come sell them at the bazaar to earn their first money. Handmade products can also be sold.

Registration in advance is required due to space limitations.

How does the children’s bazaar work?

  • Little traders need to bring a blanket to spread out their items (they can also bring a small table or suitcase for their goods).
  • The prices for the items should be symbolic (maximum of 6 €, so it is not recommended to sell valuable items).
  • Unsold items must be taken back (or can be donated to other children).
  • Chairs will be available for seating, and a few tables will be provided for the fastest participants.
  • Only children can sell.
  • Clothing, shoes, and food are not allowed for sale.
  • It is recommended to bring small coins for change.
  • Participation in the bazaar is free of charge.
  • Children will learn to recycle unnecessary items, understand how finance works, experience the atmosphere of a market, and practice communication with their “customers.”
