Title: Cello Republik – Film Music Performed by a Unique Quartet of Cellists
Venue: Mýtna 1
Organizer: Veľké koncertné štúdio Slovenského rozhlasu, Bratislava

Event Description:

A unique quartet of cellists, winners of international competitions and popularizers of classical music. These guys have become famous both locally and internationally, on YouTube and wherever they perform. They leave behind sold-out halls, original concert experiences, and millions of views.

Despite their completely different personalities and views on life, the two concertmasters of the Czech Philharmonic, a “crossover star,” and a professor of the conservatory came together with the goal of presenting music as something current, alive, and almost as necessary as the air we breathe.

They discard the safe seriousness of institutions and erase the boundary between the stage and the audience. They come with a concert concept under the subtitle “no limits,” where they erase the boundaries of the cello’s technical possibilities, complemented by a “stand-up comedy show” where they explain and comment on the music on one hand, and on the other, relate it to human stories and anecdotes from everyday life. Their concerts are accessible to both the general public and dedicated listeners/specialists of classical music.

They continue their artistic vision—creating music at the highest level, with original arrangements and a healthy dose of humor.

Performers:
