Address: Karpatská 3089/2, Bratislava

Organizer: YMCA Building, s.r.o.

Facebook: fb.me | www.ymca.sk

The YMCA building attracts attention with its characteristic brick facade and elements of palace architecture. Its creation was influenced by modern architectural approaches and the societal needs that had to be addressed in the newly established Czechoslovak Republic. Since 1923, it has been a place where sports, culture, education, social activities, and spiritual enlightenment intersected.

During the guided tour, you will explore the building from its foundation stone to the roof beams. You will visit areas that are not usually accessible and learn about the history and present of both the building and the YMCA organization. You will be surprised by unexpected firsts, such as the connection between the Czech Philharmonic and basketball, Mother’s Day and self-service cafeterias, or Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and Alfons Mucha.

The tour lasts an hour and a half.

Free entry. Due to limited capacity, advance registration is required. You can sign up through this link: https://forms.gle/qZtktY9ktwguNewZ8
