Description of the event:
The film takes us through the life and music of Charles Aznavour, from his childhood in an Armenian family that fled to France to escape the genocide, to his early performances in Parisian cabarets, his encounters and collaborations with legends like Edith Piaf, and to the peak of his career when he won the hearts of audiences around the world. The film Aznavour reveals not only his successes but also the challenging moments and tough life decisions that shaped his music and who he was.
Tahar Rahim, who portrays Charles Aznavour in the film, prepared for the role with incredible intensity to ensure his performance was authentic. Speaking about his preparation, the actor shares: “I took dance lessons, but, of course, the most time-consuming part was singing – six to eight hours a week for six months. Even during filming, I continued lessons in the evening. The same went for the piano. I had to practice everything to perfection so it would look believable, so in the movie, you’ll actually see my hands playing the piano. It simply wasn’t possible for anyone to excel in music more than I did!”
The film is screened in K1 and K2 cinema halls in 4K resolution.
