Location: Kapitulská 1
Organizer: House of the Albrecht Family (Dom Albrechtovcov), Kapitulská 1, Bratislava
Event Description
Paris in the Time of “La Belle Époque”
Maxime Zecchini (FR) – Piano
In this year marking the 100th anniversary of the death of the great French composer Erik Satie (1866–1925), pianist Maxime Zecchini will take us on a musical journey through the works of this exceptional musician and his artistic friends—who are also considered giants of French music.
In this recital, Satie’s famous Gymnopédies, Gnossiennes, waltzes, and preludes will meet Debussy’s preludes, Francis Poulenc’s improvisations, Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand, and Romance by Germaine Tailleferre.
The concert will immerse the audience in French music and the “cultural Paris” of the late 19th and early 20th century. Attendees will hear key piano works from the era known as La Belle Époque.
This event opens the concert series of the Domus & Hortus Artis festival, which in 2025 celebrates major figures of French music and their significant influence on other European cultures, including Slovak.
